Fallout 4 Announcement... Maybe

I was browsing through gaming news today to catch up a little on current events and something very exciting caught my eye. Bethesda Softworks, the studio behind Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Dishonored and many other game titles, announced their first ever E3 press conference which will be held on the 14th of June in Hollywood, CA.

This is exciting for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the major companies currently doing such a conference are Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Sony and Nintendo and they are putting up quite a show. It will be interesting to see how Bethesda handles theirs. Secondly (and more importantly, really)... GAME ANNOUNCEMENTS! (yeah!) Obviously, everyone's looking forward to see what games the wonderful guys at Bethesda will be announcing for the near future. And, with the catalog of their stature, there are a lot of things to be excited about. The one game that is most likely to be announced is Fallout 4. Since the critically acclaimed Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas launched in 2008 and 2010 respectively, the fans have been hoping for a Fallout 4 announcement every year. Now, while it may be true that it's been a long time since the last Fallout title came out and the new one will most likely be announced this year, I don't think it will be only thing discussed at E3. The conference lasts about an hour, after all.

Personally, I'm very excited about the prospect of a new Elder Scrolls title. I absolutely loved Oblivion and Skyrim. I wonder if the next one will be The Elder Scrolls VI or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 2 (or II, or two, or the second, or... you get the idea). The other possible announcements could be a sequel to Dishonored which would make a nice franchise; It could be some news on Doom 4 which was announced seven years ago; It could also be sequels to Wolfenstein: The New Order or The Evil Within, but these two are fairly recent so they're less likely to get sequels so soon.

The truth is that nobody knows as of yet what to expect and that's also exciting. What are you guys expecting from this conference? Feel free to leave a comment about it and don't forget to share. As I said before, we're all brothers and sisters in nerdiness here. ^_^
